Missing Somali Girl Sought in Minneapolis

gabarMINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis Police report that a ten-year-old girl is missing after last being seen near Lake Street West and Pillsbury Avenue South around 10 a.m. Sunday. Public help is being sought by the department to locate Namo Abdinur Ahmed.

The missing girl had exited a car driven by her mother in a parking lot and was walking just ahead of them to a nearby religious class to which she never showed up.
Officers have made door to door sweeps in the area, and spread the word in the Somali community. They have also employed a police canine to track her and alerted metro police, including Bloomington, where the girl lives.

Namo — who may also go by Naimo or Nimo — is a Somali female, just under 5-feet-tall with a lighter build and a medium brown complexion.

She was last seen wearing a black full length dress, pink shoes, a dark colored traditional head covering and carrying a purple or pink backpack.
Anyone with information about Namo’s whereabouts, where she has been since she went missing or any other information about this case is asked to call 911 in the City of Minneapolis or 612-673-2345 from outside the City.
