Mogadishu — Lower Shabelle Deputy Governor, Ahmed Omar Mudane, was critically injured after a bomb planted underneath his car detonated in Mogadishu, officials said on Monday.

“Explosives were planted underneath his car, the deputy governor was critically injured, though he is having medical attention in Madina Hospital in Mogadishu,” Sidi told VOA Somali Service.

Police said they are investigating the explosion and no one claimed the responsibility, though al-Shabab has recently carried out attacks and explosion in the capital.
