Precarious Calm Returns to Dhobley After One Day of Fighting

Dhobley-300x225Dhobley — After one day of fierce fighting between Somali transitional federal government and Al Shabaab fighters, precarious calm has reportedly returned to Dhobley, a key border town near Kenya.

At least 12 people were killed and more than 25 others injured after Somali forces launched abortive and unsuccessful attack on Dhobley in Lower Jubba region in southern Somalia, where Al Shabaab tightly controls.

There were reports suggesting that some of the killed were civilians and as well as the combatants.

Some of homes in the town burnt in the bombardments which the warring sides have been exchanging during the fighting.
