Civil Rights Group – ‘Amisom Did Not Bring Any Security Solution for Country’
Mombasa — Somali civil society groups have held meeting in the Kenyan port of Mombassa and said that AMSIOM troops did not bring any solution for the Somalia, officials said on Tuesday.
Some of the Somali women taking part the meeting which continues next day in the port of Mombassa requested from the international community to help and intervene the security of the Somali country.
Asho Haji Elmi, one of the Somali civil rights group and peace said that the international community was to know that people of Somalia need peace and complete security.
“The AMISOM troops in Mogadishu can not make peace and stability to Somalia. Even if the other remaining African troops deployed they can not restore national peace to Somalia. I call for the world to support the transitional government completely,” said Asho Haji.
“the mother selling things in the market needs to get peace, the girl serving for the family needs to get peace, the students learning holy Qur’an schools need to the get the peace and that is what we all need totally,” added Asho Haji Abdi
Mrs. Asho lastly called for the Somali people to put pressure on working the peace for the country and to understand their goals to restore their security and stability.
The meeting opened on Monday and funded by CRD agency.
The gathering which is continues its second day at Mombassa is attended by more organsitions most of them the civil society and right groups who are discussing how they would take part restoring the peace and security of Somalia.
