My people watch and pray
hope and pray to see another day
Obama, I thought change came yesterday
what do you say to those who dare say
that promises are made just to be thrown away
millions passed away yesterday
waiting for the promises you made, to be fulfilled today
On their behalf I have a message to convey
On their behalf, this message I relay
what do you say to those who dare say
that life is a game, that we all must play
that the rich will be the ones who will see another day
am sorry but the truth, I don’t shy away
I speak for the millions who passed away yesterday
and the millions more who sit and pray
hope and pray to see another day
but will likely expire the day after today
in front of me I see their bodies decay
am sorry but they truth I don’t shy away
I speak for the millions who passed away yesterday
