(VIDEO) Toronto’s Latest Murder Victim Was Just 16

Police initially received calls about gunshots going off in the area, so when they found the young victim bleeding heavily, they assumed he was shot.  But an autopsy later revealed he’d been knifed in the chest.

The youth wasn’t the only victim. Another person was also sent to hospital with stab wounds, but he’s expected to survive.

Both victims were attacked in the hallway on the 20th floor of the complex at 330 Dixon Rd.

Despite their wounds, both apparently tried to flee to the building next door, 340 Dixon Rd., where Adam’s aunt lived. But his wounds were too great and he didn’t survive the injuries.

“We feel very sad, he’s innocent, he’s a very young boy,” his aunt, Dahabo Ali, said.

“So many boys, they kill, and still nobody finds them,” she added.

The slain teen’s family insists their son was an innocent bystander and wasn’t involved in the original scuffle but police have so far refused to comment as they try to sort out what happened.

In the meantime, his sister, Naima Adam, had a message for her brother’s killer.

“No matter where he is, he can’t run,” she said.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have been near or in the residence at the time of the crime to call them at (416) 808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (416) 222-TIPS (8477).

There’s no word on suspects in this case or what led to the fatal fight.

He’s the second youngest murder victim of the year in Toronto. Fourteen-year-old Adrian Johnston was found shot to death in a field near Scarlett Rd. and Dundas on May 11th. He was still wearing his Runnymede C.I. jacket. His killer remains at large.
