‘Kenya police torture us’ Somali Detainee in Kasarani

k2Bartamaha Nairobi — The living condition of Somali national detained in Kenyan main sports center Kasarani is reported to have exacerbated according to Somali detainee who spoke to BBC Somali service, adding they face torture from Kenyan security officers at the detention centre.

“We encounter immense difficulties here in Kasarani, despite my right document to live and study in Kenyan legally I was arrested a month back while the police did not give attention to my documents,” Abdulkadir told BBC Somali service.

Abdulkadir stated the government of Somalia had not shown concern even once on its citizens who are harassed, help up and tortured in Kasarani by Kenyan government while many of the detainees carry proper documents to stay and live in Kenyan main towns.

“No one has visited us and the government of Somali sees that Kenyan is harassing its people undoubtedly so we cannot call Somali government for help every now and then,” added Abdulkadir.

Kenyan has launched massive security crackdown in Nairobi termed ‘Usalama Watch’ meaning peace watch which left over thousand Somalis  help up in Kasarani and  hundred others caused a deportation  to Mogadishu.

The people of Somali all around the world have incessantly in loud voice criticized the current federal government of Somali on failing to handle this matter in a way that heeds the rights of the week Somali asylum seekers living and studying in Kenyan Main towns.

Verdict issued from Kenyan interior minister office early this year banned Somalis refugees and even those with the asylum seeker certificates from Kenyan main towns and warned any refugee to report back to Kakuma and Dhadhab refugees camps.
