VIDEO: Djibouti Donates Food to Somali population in the areas of Beletweyne

jabuutiBeletweyne (BARTAMAHA)  The Djiboutian government has donated 250 tons of food items to the Somali population in the areas of Beletweyne and Buulo Burto. The items donated include sugar, cooking oil, flour and rice.
The Djiboutian ambassador to Somalia Dayid Doubad Robleh together with the AMISOM Military Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Osman Soubagleh handed over the food items to the Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia Ridwan Hirsi Mohamed during a ceremony held yesterday.
Buulo Burto is one of the towns captured from the al Shabaab in March this year and has since suffered food shortages after al Shabaab insurgents cut off supply routes.

Speaking after receiving the donation, the Deputy Prime Minister Ridwan Hirsi Mohamed thanked the Djiboutian government for the timely intervention.
“We really appreciate the donation from President Ismail Omar Guelleh the President of the Republic of Djibouti to our people in Buulo Burto. It is a great day today because we are receiving this gift from him and really the people here need this gift.
