Bartamaha (Nairobi):- A Somali businessman was shot and injured during a robbery at his shop in Zinyoka township near Motherwell on Saturday, Eastern Cape police said.

Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu said the Somali was found with two bullet wounds, one in the chest and other at the back.

He said three men were arrested in connection to the incident and were also linked to other robberies in the area.

The trio aged ,26, 20 and 17 were charged with attempted business robbery, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm.

Gwebu said the police received a tip-off about the robbery and arrested the men at the scene.

One was armed with a firearm and the other two with knives.

Police recovered a firearm with three live rounds and one empty cartridge was found the scene of crime.
