5th Somali lawmker killed in Mogadishu today
Mogadishu (BARTAMAHA) The 5th Somali lawmaker was shot dead in the capital, Mogadishu today after he has performed the Friday prayer.
Un-identified gunmen opened gunfire on Sheikh Adan Madar after he has stepped out of a mosque in the capital.
Madar has served former Somali transitional governments for several offices including Minister.
The killing of the lawmaker was taken by Somalia’s Al-qaida Linked militants Al-shabab, who vowed to target Somali members of the Parliaments until they leave saying that Al members of Somali parliament are subjected to death unless they leave.
Police have cordoned off the scene of the killing today and say they are after the perpetrators and will before before justice.
Somali government together with their western backers United Nations have similarly condemned the killing of the lawmaker, while the government called for national funeral for the deceased body of the lawmaker.
